REFERENCE
Lifestyle image
A product image shown in a realistic setting, such as a sofa in a living room, rather than on a plain background. imagine.io renders lifestyle images from the 3D model and a scene, so every variant gets the same scene without a photoshoot.
Silo image (silo shot, packshot)
A product image isolated on a plain or white background, used on product listings and in catalogs. Called a silo because the product stands alone. Rendered from the 3D model for every color, size and finish.
360 spin (360 viewer)
A set of images or a 3D view that lets a shopper rotate a product and see it from every side. Rendered from the 3D model, so every variant has one.
AR viewer
A view that places a life-size 3D model of the product in the shopper’s own room through the phone camera. Opened from a link or a QR code, no app required.
Vignette
A close-up scene built around one product or a small group, showing it with a few props and a styled backdrop. Used for hero images and social posts.
Silhouette render
A product image rendered without a scene, isolated as a clean shape with its true materials and lighting, for catalogs and comparison views.
3D render
An image generated from a 3D model by simulating light, materials and a camera, rather than photographed. Photorealistic when the model and materials are accurate.
Product configurator
An interactive 3D tool, on a website or in an app, where a customer picks options (size, modules, fabric, finishes) and sees the exact product in 3D with a live price. On imagine.io the rules, constraints and pricing run on the server, so the picture and the price are always the ones the catalog allows.
Configuration engine
A configuration engine is the software that decides, on every click, which options of a product go together, what the result costs, and what must change automatically, so a configurator only ever shows designs that can be built. It runs on the server, separate from the 3D view, and the same engine serves your website, your dealers' sites and your sales tools from one catalog.
Rules
Rules say what happens when something is chosen. When this module is added, hide that one. When this fabric is picked, swap the piping to match. When the width goes above 180 cm, add a centre leg. A rule reacts to a selection and changes the configuration, the options on offer, or the price. In imagine.io, rules carry a priority, and the engine applies the ones that match in that order, so two rules that touch the same part never fight.
Constraint
Constraints say what must always be true, whatever was chosen. A corner module needs a corner connector on each side. A wall-hung unit cannot be placed below worktop height. No more than two chaises on one sofa. Two appliances cannot sit next to each other; there must be at least one cabinet between them. Constraints are not triggered by a click; they are re-checked after every click, so a selection that was fine a moment ago can become invalid when a later choice breaks it, and the engine says so.
Digital twin (product)
A 3D model of a product that carries its real dimensions, materials and options, so the same model drives the configurator, the imagery and simulation.
